Today being a special day for obvious heartfelt reasons... I think it is also worth mentioning that it was two years ago today that another Haley Film was first released... and how appropriate is that to have a Haley Film released on Valentine's Day.

Anyway... today marks the second anniversary since "The Jungle Book 2" was first released. Although not very well regarded by many people, as they did not see the point in making a sequel to the wonderful original... (a film that Haley really enjoyed when he was little and watched it many times...), but Disney did go ahead and make a sequel. What was originally supposed to be a straight to DVD film, it was then considered worthy enough for a theatrical release instead... and I think it would be pretty good guess that Haley's incredible talent had some influence over their decision. (That decision did prove a wise choice, since the film did gross $135million+ at the box office worldwide).

So on 14-February-2003, "The Jungle Book 2" premiered, and it featured the amazing voice talent of a certain wonderful young actor... and not just acting with his voice, but singing as well. For that rare opportunity to experience yet another facet of Haley's many incredible talents... I think this film can be enjoyed by most of his fans... well, I think so anyway. I thought Haley was really great as the voice of Mowgli, and many seem to agree he was an improvement from the young actor who was the voice of Mowgli in the original. Considering the high regard held for the original, "The Jungle Book", I think that again shows just how incredibly talented Haley really is, and how he can improve any project that he is involved, even if it is just a lowly sequel... a sequel he first began working on when he was just 10 (ten) years old.

I heard he sang a good song, I heard he had a style.
And so I came to see him to listen for a while.
And there he was this young boy, a stranger to my eyes....

I also watched one of the bonus features, and it reminded me of a comparison shot that I have been meaning to do... so as an added little extra for today... we have this comparison between the image of the late, great Walt Disney, and the amazing Haley Joel Osment.

Not sure about anyone else... but I think there is something there... perhaps it is the kindness in their eyes, or the warmth of their smiles... you decide.
