Haley Joel Osment's performance as an awkward, troubled young teenager in Secondhand Lions is subtle, funny and yet at the same time quietly moving.

Although his was not a strongly written role, Haley more than holds his own against Academy Award winners Robert Duvall and Michael Caine. His transformation from a shy, awkward "sissy boy" to a young man who is confident and assertive is wonderful to watch.

Secondhand Lions is Haley's first role as a teenager, a difficult time for any actor , and it will be a challenge to his talent as an actor to outgrow his young roles and take on even more challenging adult roles.
