Haley at the TVland Awards 2005

As Haley walked on the stage (from the audience's left side) there was polite applause mostly because it was an older audience. Very few people under 22 (that I could see). He just walked confidently to the podium

Haley's segment was about 45 minutes into the 2 hour show.

He seemed very relaxed at the podium. He spoke in a smooth, confident voice. He leaned forward with his hands folded on the podium.

His segment was honoring Charles Lane, a character actor who appeared in many TV shows too numerous to list here. It looked to me as if Mr. Lane was in a wheelchair, but they tried to disguise it. Mr. Lane did not go on stage. As they brought a birthday cake to him, Haley led the audience in singing Happy Birthday. You could hear Haley's voice at times, but mostly the music was louder than the singing. I thought Haley sounded ok in the singing. I think his best work is as an actor and not a singer.
